PROBING is a corporate R&D project in co-promotion led by Introsys with the partnership of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa and Volkswagen Autoeuropa. It started in April 2019 and runs until March 2021 and is co-funded by PO Lisboa and Compete2020 as it is located at Introsys’ headquarters and at its Castelo Branco delegation, as well as at Volkswagen Autoeuropa’s headquarters and at FCTUNL. With an overall investment of 678k €, it is co-funded with 331k €.
This project aims to create a product that will allow, for the first time, to detect defects in brazed joints by laser using innovative techniques of inspection and non-destructive testing. This product will allow, for the first time, the automatic inspection of the quality of this type of joint right after the brazing process and in all the parts processed on the assembly line, contributing also to the early identification of problems in the machinery.
